Propellant Properties

The propellant properties section of the setup tab is made up of two inputs and a button as shown below.

The Propellant Properties are used by PT Expansion in the calculation of Base Pressure.

These values are not shared with the other PRODAS Interior ballistics modules so the first time this form is brought up the values will be zero. The user can type in the values or click the Load Propellant data from IB Database button to have PRODAS set the values using the following method:

Data will be transfered from the Propellant Properties table if this data is present from previously running another IB analysis module. If multiple propellants were used, the mass averaged properties will be calculated and displayed.
If previous IB analysis has not been completed, default values will be loaded that are typical of common propellants. A message will indicate that the defaults have been loaded. You are then free to use these values or enter new values.

For our example there is one propellant type and it has already been set up in Baer Frankel. Click the Load Propellant data from IB Database button now to transfer the data into these two fields. The result is shown below:
